Questions

What is the difference between obedience and behavioural training?

Obedience training teaches your dog what to do, such as sit, stay and walk nicely on lead. Behavioural training focuses on understanding why unwanted behaviours are happening and addressing the underlying cause.

At Time for Walkies, I believe the best results come from combining both. By understanding your dog's behaviour first, we can then teach practical skills that create lasting change.

Do I need any special equipment?

None required. All basics are supplied. If specific items are advised, we can discuss them together.

Is behavioural training suitable for all dog breeds?

Absolutely. We tailor our approach to your dog's unique personality and breed-specific needs, ensuring a safe and effective training experience for every pet.

Where is training held?

Your initial session is held at your home, where most unwanted behaviours begin. Follow-up sessions can then be held wherever you need support most.

How do I book a session?

Booking is easy.

Simply click Book Now, send an enquiry through the website, or contact me directly if you're unsure which session is right for you. I'll help you choose the best starting point for your dog.

Will I need more than one session?

Every dog is different. Some families achieve their goals in one session, while others benefit from ongoing coaching. After your Initial Training Session, I'll recommend the best plan based on your dog's needs.

My dog doesn't like other dogs. Can you still help?

Yes. Many of the dogs I work with struggle around other dogs due to fear, frustration or overexcitement. Training is always tailored to your dog's comfort level, with safety as the priority.

Can multiple family members attend the sessions?

Absolutely! Consistency is key to success. We encourage all family members who live with the dog to participate so everyone learns the same techniques.
