Meet Chloe

Qualified Dog Trainer and Canine Behaviour Practitioner.

KALGOORLIE & PERTH - Western Australia.

We are based 2 weeks a month in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and 2 weeks a month in Rockingham (Perth).

We travel anywhere in WA!

From a very young age, Chloe was often found with family and friends' dogs out the back instead of playing with the other kids. Her knowledge of training first began with her own Labrador Scarlett who taught her what would become the foundations of her training. She attended puppy school and employed a professional trainer, however she found the most valuable training came from Scarlett -'The best teachers are the dogs themselves'. Chloe began her own formal training in Australia which lead to specialising in dog behaviour and psychology during time spent in the UK. This has resulted in Chloe's specialist approach to training thousands of dogs successfully over the years.

Time for Walkies originally began in Melbourne in 2016 after the loss of her beloved Scarlett. Beginning with walking, walk and train and group training classes with dogs in the neighbourhood. Over the years Time for Walkies grew quickly gaining workers and experience in obedience, behaviour, agility and working dogs such as farm and Assistance Dog training.

2019 saw a huge change with a move back to the West, to Kalgoorlie where Chloe became the owner of 3 GSD's (German Shepherd's) which resulted in a re-launch of Time for Walkies, providing one-on-one behavioural training exclusively. The past couple of years have been specialising in aggression and reactivity and taking the opportunity to travel around beautiful WA teaching these different training methods to owners from Geraldton to Esperance and all in between.

Behavioural training provides you (the owner) with the skills and understanding of how your dog thinks and learns, as well as what they need. This allows owners to continue training their dogs without a huge amount of training sessions as they learn to communicate in a way their dog understands and responds to.

During her time in the Goldfields, Chloe has been lucky enough to visit remote communities which have hundreds of wild dogs living on the lands - these techniques work with them, pet dogs and working dogs.

Chloe holds seminars with local vet clinics, Post Offices and schools teaching people and children the importance of energy, body language and how to keep themselves safe and dogs as happy as they can be.

Our newest team member

Meet our newest trainer Kat

Kat is based in Perth.

Like many amazing dog trainers, her career first began with her own troublesome dog - you may remember seeing a post about him. Sarge the Mastiff who WAS severely dog reactive, lead reactive and all round difficult to control especially out and about.

Kat and Sarge did not go out in public for over one and a half years, they had a lot of midnight walks full of anxiety and stress.

Seeing and working with about 8 different dog trainers, she also worked at a training facility and signed up to complete her Nationally Recognised Australian Training Certification and the UK Canine Psychology Certification. She has gained huge amounts of knowledge and experience.

Best of all - most of the problems you probably face with your dog - Kat has had those experiences with her own dog so she understands everything that comes with it.

And she has come out the other side with a dog she enjoys walking (even during the day, with and around other people and dogs) 😍.

She can't wait to get started and get you guys and your dogs living your best lives together.
